Ports and Destination address (Firewall Settings for SICON.PLUG)
Introduction
Firewall settings for an IoT edge device involve configuring security parameters to protect the device from unauthorized access and potential cyber threats. This typically includes defining rules to allow or block incoming and outgoing network traffic based on specific criteria such as IP addresses, ports, and protocols. By implementing firewall settings, one can safeguard IoT edge devices against malicious activities and ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data transmitted to and from the device.
Firewall Settings for SICON.PLUG
SICON.PLUG communicates with the host address provided during the setup of the PLUG via SICON.Toolbox app. Access to the provided host as well as the below ports (based upon the connection type) should be allowed by the firewall of the network through which PLUG is connected.
Type of connection to SICON.OS | Incoming Port | Outgoing Port |
---|---|---|
OnPremise | 80 | 80, 443 |
onCloud | 80, 443 |
Eg. If a SICON.PLUG is configured to connect and register in onCloud mode to xxx.cloud.sicon.eco
then the host xxx.cloud.sicon.eco
for outgoing ports 80
and 443
should be allowed via the firewall to enable the communication between PLUG and cloud.
