On Premise
For SICON.OS on-premise deployments, the ability to reset a password depends on whether the system is connected to SICON.Services.
When SICON.OS is connected to SICON.Services:
Users can initiate a password reset themselves using the standard “Forgot Password” functionality. This process mirrors the cloud-based mechanism, where a password reset link is sent to the user’s registered email address. Or if the administrator wants to reset the password for it’s users then follow the steps of When SICON.OS is not connected to SICON.Services.
When SICON.OS is not connected to SICON.Services:
The self-service password reset functionality is not available. In this case, only a system administrator can reset the password using the administrative tools provided—either through the SICON.OS admin interface or via SICON Support.
This distinction ensures that password recovery is both secure and adaptable to the infrastructure setup of the organization.
